V5.0 Firmware Release

Scope:

Firmware version 5.0 is now available. Firmware can be downloaded and image files can be updated on a USB thumb drive or micro SD card via SMARTEN Launcher 3.6. This technical bulletin explains briefly how to update V5.0 into the SMARTEN controller.

Solution:

Firmware:

1. The image will need to be updated using a micro SD card, prior to loading V5.0
2. SMARTEN Launcher 3.6 is required to gain access to V5.0. To download SMARTEN Launcher 3.6 go to the Theta Portal under SMARTEN Downloads. You will need to register for access to the Theta Portal before being able to download Launcher 3.6

1. Select Download SMARTEN Rod Lift firmware to download V5.0
2. Insert the micro SD card (using a SD card reader) into a USB port on your computer or laptop and Select Update micro SD image. Select Go to create SD card image
3. Once micro SD card is finished, eject from computer and power off the SMARTEN.

Before proceeding, remember to save the configuration of the controller, just to be safe!

1. Insert micro SD card into BBB SD card slot, then turn power to SMARTEN back on (image update will take about 2-3 minutes).

1. Once screen shows DONE remove micro SD card, then cycle power on controller

1. The controller is now updated.
