System Requirements – XSPOC

XSPOC Server Minimum Requirements:

• At least 4 Core – 2 GHz (or faster) multi-core processers (8 core for above 300 wells)
• At least 16GB of RAM (more if more than five simultaneous users in networked environment)
• At least 100GB of disk space for application and data storage (this does not include space needed OS and other software)
• Additional disk space depending on number of wells, data resolution, and data archiving (500 GB is more than sufficient for the largest systems)
• Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2014, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 (newer versions are also compatible)
• Remote access capability (ZOOM, LogMeIn or company-provided VPN or CITRIX required to provide remote support)
• Backup capability (second hard drive or network file server)
• MS SQL Server ( 2016 or higher)
• SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio)
• .NET 4.8 & .NET 3.5
• Telnet Client

XSPOC Client Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 GHz (x86 or x64 processor)
• At least 8GB of RAM
• Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10

Company needs have a large role to play in the server specs. XSPOC will run just fine on the system spec’ed above for up to 500 wells or so. However, a system with 1000 to 2000 or greater wells will require a much more robust server to handle the data throughput and management. A system with only 100 wells could run on a normal workstation without a problem.

If your organization supports it, consider running your XSPOC system in a virtual environment. This provides flexibility as needs change on your server. Resource Allocation can be adjusted pretty quickly in this environment.

  • Terminal Server For Users
    • CPU usage for users based on applications running concurrently
    • 1GB RAM per concurrent user connected
      • 250MB per XSPOC client connection
      • 750 OS overhead and any additional tasks per user
    • Space usage determined by saved data per user on local host
    • Network usage 120Kbps to 250Kbps per concurrent user
  • XSPOC Application Server
    • CPU usage determined by Well scan intervals and general maintenance
    • 16+GB RAM
