Delay for Digital Inputs 8-10

Problem:

When using digital inputs 8-10 on the SMARTEN RIB 2 boards, as a safety digital input (such as a kill switch), the digital can intermittently drop out causing a nuisance shutdown. On the RIB2 digital inputs 1 through 7 are standard digital inputs.  Digitals 8 through 10 are digital inputs as well as high speed counters, which are used for hall effect inputs, or high-speed turbine measuring liquid flow.

Solution:

To mitigate this issue a trigger delay of one second is needs to be set when using digitals 8-10 (this only applies if the digital is not being used as hall effect sensor input).

Materials Required:

None

Steps for Mitigation:

Navigate to the I/O tab, select the digital you are using, and select Shutdowns. Within this menu there is option for a Trigger Delay. A delay of one second is sufficient. Refer to image below.
