XSPOC uses the convention for crank rotation that the well is always to the right of the pumping unit. XSPOC only collect/updates crank rotation from the RPC when equipment data is uploaded from the RPC to XSPOC. For some units, XSPOC only allows a single crank rotation eg. Mark II units only go CCW and enhanced geometry units only go CW in those cases we don’t really need the information from the RPC.

Usually the crank direction received from the RPC is accurate but you also have the ability to change the direction in the XSPOC client. You can also push crank rotation as well as other equipment data from XSPOC back to the RPC.
